Tips for Washing Your Clothes While Backpacking

For a two or three day backpacking trip you probably don't need to worry about washing your hiking clothes. If you are hiking for longer and want to avoid packing the extra clothes with you then follow this simple advice for cleaning your clothes while on the trail.
If your really need to wash some of your clothes while you are backpacking or even camping in more remote areas, it's really quite simple and easy to do. It's also a little old fashioned.
The main reason we need to wash any clothes while we're backpacking is to avoid the bulk and weight of bringing extra clothes with us and having that weight on our backs.
When you are heading into the backcountry you do need to be especially careful of the environment and that includes the water supply around you. There are two efficient ways to wash your clothes that we have used with success but first it's important to mention what you are going to use for washing.
The soap you use is important. Regular household soaps and detergents contain ingredients that can be harmful to the water system and to the wildlife that depend on the water systems of wherever you are hiking. It's very important to use a chemical free biodegradable soap that can be found at all reputable outdoor stores such as REI and MEC.
These soaps are what we use for everything we need to wash or clean while we're backpacking and also camping with our entire family. They are not harmful to the environment and do a great job. They are meant to be used to wash yourself, the dishes, pots and pans and any laundry you need to do.
They work great with cold water and you only need a very small amount to do a lot of washing.
Use one of these great outdoor and environmentally friendly soaps and use just a bit to wash your clothes. If you are needing to wash a smaller item like a shirt or shorts, put a couple of drops of soap into a ziplock bag and place your washable inside the ziplock bag as well. Fill the bag with water and seal the top of the bag. Squish and mold the bag to act as an agitator on the clothes. This will help to make your laundry clean.
When you are done, drain the soapy water well away from any water source and fill the bag again with fresh water to rinse. Hang your washables to dry and enjoy your freshly laundered clothing. Simple, effective and it really works.
For larger items or multiple pieces of clothing I often use a container that we've brought along and work the clothing with my hands in the soapy water.
Please remember to protect our environment and never dump your soapy water into any fresh water system.
It is easy to wash your clothes while you are backpacking using safe and environmentally friendly soap and a little hand power!
Happy Hiking!

Maternity Clothes - Fashion Tips For Spring

It used to be that pregnant women weren't very fashion conscious. Frankly, one tent looked as good as another and women just tried to get through without too much embarrassment. No wonder pregnancy was hidden away! Times have really changed, however. Modern maternity clothes are stylish, comfortable and make mom look like a million bucks. With spring fast approaching, what styles can an expectant mom expect to see? What looks are the most flattering to a mom-to-be?
Start With the Basics
While you want a few fun additions to your overall maternity wardrobe, you definitely are going to want to start with the basics. Spring maternity lines will feature plenty of tees, jeans and yoga pants. Because you will be wearing your maternity clothes for such a short time, you will probably want to select a few basic bottoms in solid colors. This will allow you to mix and match more effectively. Try to have at least two or three jeans in black or blue and a few pairs of trousers or knit pants, depending on your lifestyle. If you go out a lot, go with the dressier choice. Casual moms will probably prefer a comfortable pair of yoga pants. Don't forget to round out your everyday wardrobe with some tee shirts. In spring, you will see floral prints, as well as pastel colors and basics like black, red and grey.
Dress Up a Little
Every pregnant mother will likely have a few occasions during her pregnancy where she will want to get out and about. Spring is the perfect time to shop for a special occasion maternity dress. In fact, the selection is usually better than during any other season. Spring brings on not only warmer weather, but weddings, and the new mom will need something to wear. Most dresses in spring lines feature short sleeves and shorter lengths. Floral prints are common. If your budget allows, get at least two, so that you'll have a good variety in your wardrobe.
What About Length?
When it comes to the rest of a woman's life, skirt length is really a matter of personal preference. If you have the right proportions and enough guts to get away with it, you can wear a mini length with confidence. However, as you browse fashion tips for maternity and start to shop the inventory of your favorite brands, you will notice that most maternity dresses and skirts are knee length or below. Frankly, as your belly grows, these lengths are just more flattering on your body. With so much emphasis already being placed on your midsection, you want to wear a skirt length that draws the eye downward, lengthening your overall silhouette. If you prefer shorter lengths, look for a tunic top, paired with leggings or yoga pants.
Round Out the Details
Besides your standard wardrobe, there are a few details that you should add to your maternity clothes. First, most newly pregnant mothers don't realize that there is often a significant lag between when you grow out of your normal clothes and when you need maternity wear. For this transition period, look for a tube top or cover up. This accessory will allow you to wear your normal clothing, loosened or unbuttoned. It covers up the area and holds it all up. Another thing you might want to consider is purchasing a few camisoles in spring colors. These are fantastic layering pieces. A good maternity/nursing bra is also a good idea. Finally, don't neglect night time maternity clothes. Many pieces of nightwear are designed with nursing access, so they are multipurpose and you can still wear them after your baby is born. Again, fresh color palettes and soft fabrics abound in the spring lines.

Tips For Storing Clothing Long-Term

Do you have some clothing that you need to store? It's a good idea to follow some standard rules of storage to keep your clothing safe while it's being stored. You can store out-of-season clothing, clothes that your children haven't grown into yet, maternity clothes for the next person that needs them, or clothes that you hope to fit back into one day. There are endless reasons that you may have to store clothes for a long time. Follow these tips so that your clothing investment is not ruined by mold, mildew, pests or heat.
1) If you're storing winter coats, you may have to follow specific directions. Leathers need to breathe, so you must not store it in plastic. Furs can be ruined by humidity. Wool needs to be brushed or dry cleaned to ensure that there is no body oil present that might give moth larvae a breeding ground. Certain fabrics can fade or even melt if exposed to heat or sunlight. For your more expensive or delicate items, make sure that you follow the manufacturer's advice before you store them.
2) For regular, everyday wear, mostly cotton clothing, it's mostly the humidity that you have to worry about. Any tiny amount of moisture present can cause mold and mildew to grow. Have you ever opened up a cardboard box of clothing from storage and it smelled musty? That smell is mold and mildew. Somehow moisture was allowed into the box. To avoid those dreaded musty odors, use cedar products in an airtight plastic container with your clothes. Cedar doesn't only help to repel moths and other pests, but it absorbs moisture from the air trapped in the container, giving you a humidity-free environment for storing your clothes.
3) Many people have asked about storing their clothing with dryer sheets to keep them smelling fresh while they're in storage. This can work, but you have to be careful. Don't place the dryer sheet directly on an article of clothing. As time goes on, the chemicals in the dryer sheet will adhere to the fabric that it's touching. It leaves a waxy residue that can damage clothing or that won't wash off. If you want to use dryer sheets for fragrance, tape one in the lid of the storage container and don't stack the clothes to the top. You may still need to use cedar to absorb moisture to fully eliminate musty odors.
4) If you plan to store items like suits and coats, you may want to invest a little in a rolling garment rack. Use wooden hangers to help suits and coats hold their shape at the shoulders. Your clothes hangers can make a big difference here. Clothing hangers made of cedar are perfect for storing things long-term. Whichever hangers you choose, make sure that they are sturdy enough to hold the weight of the items for long periods of time.

More Surefire Tips When Buying Boys Clothing

Many parents are having difficulties in purchasing the right children's clothing. If you are one of them and would want to make your job easier, read this article to know more on the surefire tips when buying boys' clothing.
Some say that it is more fun to buy girls' clothing than boys' clothing. They are wrong. It is also fun to buy clothes for the young man. Below are tips that you should consider when buying clothes for your little man.
1) Boys grow faster than the girls. In this case, you have to consider the size. Be a wise buyer by buying larger than the current size of your little baby boy. For instance, if your baby boy is four months old, you should go for sizes that are labeled for six to nine months old.
2) Do not go for designer or too expensive clothes if you are on a tight budget. Remember, your baby grows faster and he will not be able to appreciate the value of the clothes if he is still young.
3) You have to watch out for discounts, sales and even auctions at your nearest local stores. This is to cut down on costs for clothes.
4) When buying clothes for your little boy, go for easy to wear and easily "opened" clothes. For example, go for clothes that have easy access when changing diapers.
5) Always choose clothes that will make your baby comfortable. Do not buy clothes based solely on attractiveness.
6) You have to choose some clothes that are unisex for you to be able to use it for your other baby. For instance, go for yellow and green colored shirts.
7) Before buying additional clothes of your baby, make sure you were able to sort first the closet or cabinet of your baby. This will save you from buying clothes that your boy already has. What you can also do is sort your baby's clothes based on what to wear per season.
8) List down the type of baby gears your baby needs for the upcoming season. For instance, on winter. Your baby would need clothes that will keep him warm and comfortable.
9) If you are unsure of the size of your little man, bring him during your shopping adventure. This will ensure that you are buying what fits your baby.
It sounds exciting to buy kids' clothing but it is very challenging. For you to do the task effectively, keep in mind the tips mentioned above in buying boys clothing.

Clothing Shopping Tips for Men From Women

If you know women at all, you should know that they love being beautiful. They spend a lot of time, money and effort to look the most beautiful not only for themselves but also for their men. They really make sure that they look beautiful in the eyes of the one that they love. For single women, they make sure that they look really beautiful to attract men. If men will pay more attention to choose the right clothes for them, it will greatly affect the way women look at them. Here are some tips for men who want to update their looks to attract women.
One of the most common differences between men and women has something to do with shopping. When it comes to shopping, here is what a man usually does. He will go inside one clothing line shop, get the shirt that they think looks decent, try it on for a couple of seconds and pay for it. For women, an ordinary trip to the shopping mall, can take at least 1 to 5 hours. Women will go from one shop to another, raiding all the aisles of the boutiques and getting all the clothes that they find cute. Then they will try on every single item in the dressing rooms and take several minutes to look at how the clothes fit and compliment them. After putting on and taking off the clothes, they still will not pay for it until they have checked the other stores.
Both situations are pretty extreme but we have to admit that women get the better result with the way they shop. Men do not have to follow exactly how women shop for clothes. Just follow some of them and practice moderation. Here are shopping tips that men can learn from women:
1. Do not hesitate to go to different stores. Most stores offer different kinds of styles and designs of clothes so if you just stick to one shop, you will end up wearing the same kind of clothes every day. You can also compare the prices of the clothes from different stores and you will see that some stores have better deals. You will be surprised at how much money they can save if they will take the time to compare prices from different stores.
2. Do not be afraid to go up a notch. If you want to update your look and attract women, you have to make them look at you twice. You can do that by being a little adventurous with style and color. You do not have to wear crazy styles and neon colors to achieve this. A lot of shops have friendly staff that can assist you with all of your questions and concerns. In fact, you can just look at the window display of the shops and see if you can sport those looks. That is the best way to avoid mixing and matching the wrong items.
Just remember, be a little bit of a woman the next time you shop for clothing items and you might just get the attention of the woman that you have been eying.

There is a misconception out there that big and tall men's clothing is for men who are obese, but that is often the furthest thing from the truth. While unconventional clothing sizes such as 5X are represented within the big and tall clothing category, so are sizes such as XL which notate extra length for taller men. Some clothing for taller men can be made very slender, since many men who have extra height are quite thin.

These shops may also have higher prices than what can be found online, especially if discount stores and sales are shopped.
The best way to get affordable deals on big and tall men's clothes is to shop online and purchase in quantity. It is a good idea to place a small order for one shirt and pair of pants when shopping with a new brand that has not been worn before.
Once the required size has been determined then it's a good idea to buy clothing from that brand in bulk so it all comes in one larger shipment. This will be more affordable then paying for numerous smaller shipments.
Many online big and tall men's clothes shops will also give shipping discounts for larger orders and some may offer completely free shipping on orders above $50 or $100. That equals out to a huge savings for men who purchase larger batches of clothing at once.

Tips for Washing Your Clothes When Hiking

Hiking and backpacking trips mean you're packing light, taking no more than necessary and usually wearing your clothes at least twice during the trip. Sometimes you need to wash your clothes for one reason or another.
To avoid washing your clothes all together, try wearing fabrics made of merino wool or merino wool and polyester blends. Merino wool doesn't absorb body odours which makes this fabric a super companion for hikers. You can wear merino wool hiking shirts for multiple days without offending your fellow hikers with bad body odours. But if you do find it necessary to wash some of your hiking clothes then keeping the environment in mind is a must to protect any soaps or chemicals from contaminating water and ground systems.
Washing your clothes in the outdoors means you need to take the environment into consideration as well. We don't want to be contaminating the only water sources for the wildlife and ourselves with chemicals or harmful ingredients. Not to mention that any soap or detergent used will leech into the ground also.
With this in mind, if you do need to wash any clothes do so using a safe and gently biodegradable soap found at most outdoor stores and keep any soap or detergent away from running water sources by about 200 feet.
The best and most efficient way to wash your clothes using an environmentally safe soap is to soak your clothes first in water and then at least 200 feet away from any running stream or river apply a small amount of soap to your garment to wash it. Once washed, bring fresh water to your clothes for rinsing. Never rinse soapy clothes directly in a natural water source.
Wring the excess water from your clothes and hang them to dry in a sunny location, either directly on tree branches or on a clothes line made from rope gently tied around a couple of trees.
Keep in mind that synthetic fabrics will take less time to dry than other types of fabrics and you'll need to take drying time into consideration, especially if you need to wear these clothes again soon.
The other option for washing your clothes while hiking is to skip the soap and only use cold water. Simply scrub your clothes after you have soaked them, wring out the excess water and hang to dry.
One last washing tip is to wear the clothes you want washed and go for a swim in them. They'll come out cleaner then before and you will get cleaner at the same time.
Keeping the environment in mind while washing your clothes on a hiking trip will make you a better hiker.
Happy Hiking!

Best Tips For Choosing Clothes for a Go-See!

You've booked a Go-See, now what will you wear? The first thing to think to remember is that, the client needs to see your body and face. The client wants you to be the perfect girl for them, so be confident. Also, put yourself in their shoes. It's important they can see you clearly. So wear clothes that are form fitting, nothing baggy. A tank dress or tank top and tight jeans or a skirt or shorts is always a safe bet.
You want to look and feel comfortable, so wear something that you like to wear. It will make it easier for you to be confident. Think simple colors and patterns, nothing really flashy or loud. We all have certain colors that flatter our skin tone or our eyes. You're best suited wearing those things.
Remember, they want to see you, not that super cool florescent 80's dress with the ruffles. It's OK to wear something that expresses your personality. But make sure your beautiful face and figure are the most prominent thing. That special quality that makes you stand out is what they are looking for.
Wear little or no jewelry, it can be distracting and they may ask you to remove it. You should wear nude, seamless undergarments. Just in case you have to try on clothes for the client, you'll be safe if they are white or form fitting. Nu-Bra makes an excellent stick-on bra that is strapless and backless. It's a good thing to have with you just in case you try on anything that requires a special bra like that. It's very smooth and looks nice under all clothing. It can even give you a little boost if needed. There are several brands of these types of bras out there and can be found at most department stores.
It's also good to bring a pair of high heels. They make everyone and most clothing look better. It's another important thing to have with you. It's not necessary to wear them, but you should have them as an option. If you feel more confident in heels, by all means, strut your stuff, but they may ask you to remove them too.
Pay attention to what the job is for. If it's a go-see for a magazine, then they will want to see all of you, so go with form fitting all around. If it's for a shoe company or something that needs to see your legs, wear a short skirt or shorts, not boot cut jeans. A jewelry maker will probably like to see your neck, arms and ears, so pull your hair up and wear a tank or tube top. Swimwear company? You guessed it, wear your favorite bikini under your clothes. The list goes on, but if you think about what the client needs to see, you can figure out what is best for you to wear.
Put together a model bag with the above mentioned items along with your portfolio, and bring it to every go-see.

Vintage Women's Clothing - Some Tips

Vintage clothing is clothing that was worn between the 1920s and the 1980s. The term is quite flexible and this type of clothing is also known as retro clothing. However the term retro is used to describe the more recent style of clothes. For example, the styles of the 1970s and the 1980s are referred to as retro while the older styles are called vintage designs. Vintage clothing could also mean a piece of clothing created by a designer and not worn for a couple of years.
Vintage clothing as a style is catching on and gaining popularity. There are even vintage accessories available. There are two types of places where these items can be purchased from. The first place are boutique stores that sell authentic vintage women's clothing and accessories. The other type is the one that sells cheaper knock offs copied from original designs.
Here are a few things you need to keep in mind when buying vintage women's clothing. The measurements for vintage clothes are given in terms of hip waist and bust. If you are planning to buy these clothes then get your correct measurements or you will not be able to buy the product. The next thing to look out for is details of the product. Original pieces come with details of its history and the existing damage.
There is a system of classification that tells of the items age and how much it was worn. Vintage clothing does not mean it is from a different era. Sometimes celebrities wear clothes that are never used again. These clothes are also sold as vintage items. The classification system is based on the condition of the item. Here is a listing of the terms used.
1. Mint
2. Near Mint
3. Excellent
4. Very Good
5. Good
The Mint condition is the highest ranking for an item of clothing and it is very rare to find vintage clothes in mint condition. The system continues ranking based on the condition of item.
You can find a number of different clothing designs online since there are quite a few stores which focus on women's clothing. It is better to shop online since you will find a greater variety. The prices online are also cheaper than the ones at regular stores. You can find discounts and a number of other offers online if you search properly. Wish you all the Best!

4 Best Tips To Care For Baby's Clothes

Parents always want to keep their baby's clothes in good order. Although parents are aware that their babies will only be wearing their particular clothes by age for a short period of time, parents still insists in buying expensive and sensitive clothes for the natural reason that they want to give the very best to their children. It is but natural to assume that these clothes require utmost care when it comes to washing and drying.
In caring for baby's clothes, keep in mind that the fabrics are not the same as grown up clothes. Detergent and fabric softener for example should be different from the ones that being used on regular clothes. This has been a running debate for a long time already. Some parents feel differently about the issue. To be more specific, take a look at some of the best tips to care for your baby's clothes.
Laundry Soaps
It is a valid concern for parents to think that baby clothes detergent should be different from the detergent of regular clothes. It is true that regular detergent is harsh on the skin of babies. These harsh chemicals can also be potentially harmful to the sensitive cotton and wool fabrics of baby clothes. Plus some regular detergent carries strong scent that could irritate the sensitive sinuses of babies. Although some experts may say that it is perfectly fine to wash baby's clothes with regular detergent, it can be both beneficial to your baby as well as to your clothes if you choose to wash it with specially made baby clothes detergent. They have milder scent and lesser chemicals that are both good for the skin and for the fabric.
Actual Laundry Duty
It is also a concern for parents whether or not to include the baby's clothes when doing the laundry with the rest of the grown-up clothes. This is also a valid concern. However, some experts say that it is ok to wash your baby's clothes together with the rest of the family's but just to be on the safe side, and if you're one of those who are meticulous when it comes to clothes, then separating your baby's clothes would work for you. If you also have the time, extra spin cycle would do you no harm.
Cloth Diaper
Now this is something everyone seems to agree. If you are using cloth diapers and you are using a diaper service, then washing these delicate whites should be separated from the rest of the grown-up clothes.
Stains
Ah! The endless problem of removing stains from clothes - whether the regular adults' or baby clothes. Stain free clothes is the ultimate measurement of a well kept dress, shirt, pants or skirt. But removing these nasty imperfections can be a little bit tricky. Every type of stain has a different approach. It is important to slightly pre-heat the stained part with washing. Apply stain pre-heat sprays. Let it soak for a couple of minutes so that the spray can get through the tougher portion of the stain. Then, apply an oxygen based stain remover to remove the rest of the proteins as well as the dairy part of the stain. You are now ready to wash. Make sure to check the clothes after the washing cycle before placing it to the dryer. If the stain is still visible, you may repeat the steps. If not, then continue on with the drying part.
Taking care of your baby's clothes can be tricky. It can mean additional work only if you don't know what to do and when to do it. You may end up with ruined clothes and in due course you are left no choice but to buy another one. Just follow these simple rules and you'll never go wrong.

Tips For Buying Baby Clothes Wisely

Baby clothes are some of the most exciting things to buy, especially for the parents of a newborn. If you are a proud mommy, you'll probably want to spend a whole day shopping for baby stuff such as clothes, toys, baby skin care products and the like. Because of all the excitement, there's a good chance you might start buying baby stuff indiscriminately. This isn't going to be good for you, though. It's not a time to be spending too much when we can spend much less and get the same benefits.
When shopping for baby clothes, the most important consideration you need to make is the comfort of your baby. You may enjoy all that fanciness, but if your baby's not going to appreciate it, everything becomes useless. You wouldn't want to take your little one to a party and have her tying to pull her lacey dress open. If you she's going to be restless in that fancy outfit, you probably will be, too. Get clothes that are simple and made of soft materials so both of you can be comfortable.
When you talk of your baby's comfort, it's not just about the design of the piece of clothing you're buying. It's also going to be an issue of how the item fits your baby's body. Even when you have a lacy blouse for your little girl, if you get a size that is slightly larger than her actual size, she can get comfortable in it. One thing that babies really hate is having something stick to their bodies, especially clothing that is made of rough material which causes irritation. Getting clothes that are slightly larger than the actual size of your baby's body will not only be good for ensuring her comfort. It can also mean more savings because then, your child will be able to use that piece of clothing for a longer time and you won't have to keep buying her new ones as she grows.
Cost is another thing you'd like to look into when buying baby clothes. Sometimes, you can end up with a whopping bill even when you thought you had only bought very little stuff. Baby stuff may look small, but they can be overly priced. Check out baby clothes shops that offer these things at a practical cost. It's good to be able to splurge in a designer outfit once in a while for the cute little one, but it's totally impractical to do that more than once a year, especially now that the times aren't helping.

Clothing Care Tips

Sweat it out!
The sweatshirt garment is a good idea for a quick and easy cold weather protection. There are several patterns in each of the major pattern books that could be used for making a sweatshirt.
The style should be loose, with a cut-in-one, raglan or other unstructured sleeve style, no buttonholes, if possible, and not too many seams.
Some of the sweatshirt styles feature ribbing. You can use matching ribbing or you can use the garment fabric cut on the crosswise stretch. This makes a very nice finish and gives your garment a classier look.
The ribbing piece must be shorter than the piece to which it is stitched so that it will "recover," drawing to a snug fit.
Hems on sweatshirt fabric can be a bit of a pain. If you use the blind-hemmer on your machine, the stitches can pull out since they catch in the fleecy back side of the fabric and do not have a good hold. On most styles for this type of fabric, you can use a top-stitched hem. It can be as narrow as 5/8 inch or as wide as 1 1/4 inch. The raw edge of the hem allowance can be finished to prevent curling.
Easy Ways to Organize Your Closet
It's the perennial challenge all working women must face: organizing their ever-bulging wardrobe, and clearing the clutter from their closet. This task sounds so simple but it isn't. And unless you've got the necessary patience, going through your chaotic wardrobe just to organize it requires nothing short of Herculean efforts. Here are easy ways to organize your closet:
1. Remove unwanted clothes. Get rid of everything you don't need in order to get your closet in order. Also, remove all of the items that need repair work. If you leave them in the closet, you'll forget to have them fixed. Find a charitable organization that could use the items you no longer need.
2. Count your clothes. Once you get rid of the excess from your closet, and then start counting your clothes. This way you'll know how many rods and shelves you'll really need to add to your closet.
3. Utilize your closet door. Use your closet door to hold robes, nightgowns and ties. You can use hooks on the inside of the door to hold these items - just make sure you don't overstuff them.

Tips for What Clothes to Pack on Your Next Vacation

Have you picked your vacation destination and now you're wondering what clothes to take? Many people experience a lot of stress around this and there are the ones who pack a week or more ahead of time because they fear forgetting something and then there are the ones who cope by waiting until the last minute, not wanting to think about it. Allow this list to get you going and ease the stress of travel:
First, check the forecast for the place and time of year you're going. Just because it's summer where you are, doesn't mean it's summer where you're going. I live in Florida, and when we're 97 degrees F June - August, Argentina is in the throes of winter, with temperatures reaching as low as 23 degrees F.
You can find the temperatures and forecasts for your vacation paradise by internet or by visiting the encyclopedia or geography section of your local library.
And by all means, if you're going to go to a place where the climate can be snow one week and 107 degrees Fahrenheit the next, then layer, layer, layer to create warmth, rather than bring bulky sweaters that are useless for half of your trip.
Next, PLEASE coordinate your wardrobe around just one or two main colors. For most men, this is pretty easy to accomplish since blues, browns or blacks tend to predominate. For women, though, this is probably the best advice I can give in this entire article, because women's clothes come in every color of the rainbow. If you limit yourself to 2 main colors, it will significantly cut down on the amount of shoes, handbags, jewelry and other accessories you'll be enticed to pack.
Third, you can generally get away with wearing the same pants for several days, but not so much shirts unless you're in a cold climate and have no vigorous exercise or adventures planned. For women, this advice ties in to the suggestion above, because choosing one or two main colors doesn't mean you have to go with blue, brown, black, and/or white, but if you're going to go with a bolder color such as red or purple, make sure you have enough shirts to use that bright color multiple times. I have a pair of purple jeans and I can pack those because I have 4-5 shirts that will go with them, whereas I don't have much that will go with my red capri pants, so it doesn't make sense to bring them and only be able to wear them once.
Jeans. Only take one pair, unless you have no other pants in your drawers or closet. They are heavy and bulky, making them less convenient to fit in the suitcase and haul around. If you absolutely insist on 2 pairs, then wear one pair your first day of travel so you only have one pair to pack. Slacks are thinner, lighter, and more adaptable to different situations, so I encourage more of those than jeans.
Silks make an awesome choice because they don't wrinkle in a suitcase and dry quickly if they get wet. They're also as light as a feather. I always thought silks wrinkled terribly and they do if wet, but for dry packing and wearing, they're the bomb!
Limit your solid colors. With solid pants or skirts, wear shirts with patterns. With patterned skirts or dresses, wear solid tops or undergarments. Patterns don't show wrinkles or dirt as much, so you can get away with wearing them more.
Bottom line? Everything you bring, from clothes to shoes or purses and jewelry, it all MUST be able to do double or triple duty during the trip or you shouldn't be taking them. Trust me, you don't need as much as you think and as my husband and I like to say, if there's something we forget that IS that important, there's always the handy credit card or traveler's checks to buy what you're missing.
Ask yourself this - does it look like I'm bringing everything but the kitchen sink? If your answer is yes, you've probably packed too much and it's time to pare it down. Follow the suggestions above and you'll get the suitcase to close.

First off you need to be aware that the sizes of dolls vary depending on which year they were actually manufactured in. Even dolls only produced 10 years ago will vary slightly in size from those that are produced today. So before you do begin your search to buy doll clothes make sure you know exactly what size doll it is you have.

Baby Girl Clothes Buying Tips

I defy any person not to coo and gush over baby clothes, it is inevitable, pick up a pair of trousers that are made for babies, or a pair of trainers that are smaller than the palm of your hands, and it is a natural reaction to let out a resounding 'ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!' Unfortunately, when shopping for baby girl clothes the cuteness of all the items available can distract no end - to the point that it can take hours to buy clothes, that if you were purchasing them for an adult, would only take a matter of minutes.
There are some issues with buying baby clothes though, of which many new parents are unaware. Here we will discuss some of the considerations you should be making when choosing clothes for your baby.
Primarily, although you will want your baby to look cute in their new baby girl's clothes, it is important to ensure that several requirements are met before considering what the clothes actually look like. Appearance is much less important than other factors. Practicality is the most important feature: you need to purchase items of clothing that are easily removed - you will appreciate this when you are changing your baby at 3am and all you want to do is get back to bed.
The material from which the clothes are made is also a very high priority; you must ensure that you buy clothes in a skin friendly material. Babies and small children have skin that is much more sensitive than that of an adult; when buying clothes ensure the materials are natural, have a high level of breathability and that they are not too tight. The types of material you should be considering are those that are soft and made from natural fibres. If in doubt, stick to cotton.
Next, you need to ensure that the clothing is easy to remove and that you can access various areas (unfortunately, in most cases this is the bottom!) without having to fully remove the garment each time. Keep to simple designs that are straightforward and easy to use, too many fastenings and it is easy to fall into a tizzy.
Baby girl's clothes need to be easy to clean, babies are messy and have no concern as to whether or not they are ruining their clothes, - it can be particularly frustrating if you buy an item of designer baby clothing, only to have them ruined with stains within ten minutes of wearing them. Make sure that you purchase clothes that can be washed at high temperatures without losing shape, this way you can stop stains from taking hold.
Purchasing baby clothes online is probably the most practical course of action, it means that you can shop from the convenience of your own home, and are less likely to get distracted 'umming and ahhing' over all the cutesy clothes!

Simple Baby Clothes Selection Tips

Are you having trouble selecting baby clothes due to lack of ideas? If so, you are not alone because thousands of individuals out there do not know how to buy baby clothes especially if you are first time parents. To gain insights and ideas on baby clothes selection, read the tips mentioned below.
Shopping for baby clothes is considered the most exciting activity for first time parents, especially for soon to be mothers. If you are one of them, you probably want to spend whole day shopping for baby items, like clothes, shoes, bibs and other baby things. Because of excitement, some parents might end buying too many stuff, which is not good. It is not advisable to buy too many new-born clothes because it could only last for several weeks.
Because babies are delicate and sensitive, shopping for their clothes require lots of care and attention.
Factors to consider when buying baby clothes:

It is important that before you begin shopping online you take accurate measurements. One woman actually goes to the stores to try on similar garments to make certain the one she is ordering will look right on her. This may sound a bit redundant but by clothes shopping online she finds the same item for 30-50-80% less than the one she tried on. That is something to think about in these tough economic times.
Here are four other tips that will make your clothes shopping online experience more enjoyable.
1. A lot of items are labeled "small", "medium" or "large". This may sound fine but all small items are not cut on the same scale. Knowing the exact measurements of the person you are shopping for will ensure your purchase will fit properly.
2. If you are in doubt about how to measure your body, go to a clothing store and let one of the people there measure you. Get your bust, inseam, arm length, neck and waist measurements.
3. Feel free to ask questions-most online shops provide you with an avenue to contact them directly.
4. Be aware of shipping charges and learn how to find the deals before committing to any purchase.
By practicing these simple steps you will find that clothes shopping online can be as pleasurable an experience as going to the mall. If you find that sort of thing a pleasure.

Fashion Clothing Tips for Short Women

Petite curvaceous women definitely need to elongate their body using their clothing style for minimizing the volume. This is the general rule for the women owning this type of figure. In order to cover the faults of a figure not belonging to a tall, skinny 'giraffe' type model, you need to follow some essential tricks.
- Your aim is to elongate your body. The most frequent mistake petite women making in terms of clothing is cutting their bodies by using pieces of clothes as jackets and belts in the wrong proportions. Wearing large belts on top of pants or skirts together with blouses of different color is not the best choice as it cuts the body in two parts, drawing attention to the shortness of the figure.
- You should also avoid wearing extra fabric around the waist. You already possess a good amount of volume in this area and the last thing you need adding some more.
- A false myth is the idea that very long skirts make your legs look long. Very long, baggy skirts make your legs look shorter. Long skirts may make you look taller if they go down to the ankle level and if they are straight.
- A good trick to elongate your legs is to wear straight pants that cover your shoes. This will definitely add some extra inches to your legs.
- Mixing colors is permitted for petite women but remember that it is the monochromatic clothing that makes you look taller and slimmer.
- Avoid wearing thick fabric clothing as it adds extra weight to your figure.
- The best trick to elongate your body is to wear vertical lines patterned clothing. But keep in mind not to exaggerate as you will end up looking like a zebra. It is enough to wear a pair of jeans that have a vertical line in the seams and you will create the illusion of a taller person. Just one or two lines are enough to create this illusion. Try to avoid wearing clothing items with multiple vertical lines or mixing two garments with lines pattern.
- If you also have some extra pounds, the best way to hide them is to fit properly the clothing items. Remember that oversize t-shirts don't hide extra pounds, they make people look baggy, without any shape.
- Too tight means too bad. However very tight clothes are risky too.Properly fitted clothes help you show the best of your body. Never wear clothes that show an open view of your tummy. It will only call attention to this wrong part of your figure.
- And the 'must do' rule for petite women is to always wear high heels. Matching stilettos to long, straight pants is the combination that will make you look taller and slimmer in any situation.
And keep in mind: any figure fault can be covered by using the right piece of clothing.

Summer Maternity Clothes Tips!

It is essential to find the right summer maternity clothes to keep cool this summer and can be quite a challenge especially when you're heading into your third trimester. Carrying the extra weight with all that heat makes you feel short of breath, uncomfortable, irritable and just altogether miserable! It can even keep you from enjoying summer activities that you would normally enjoy. To top it off, maternity clothes aren't the best on keeping you cool. However, switching up the way you wear your maternity clothes can help out tremendously! Check out these maternity clothes tips to help you keep cool and fabulously fashionable during pregnancy!
Dress up or down! Having a couple summer maternity dresses on hand during pregnancy will be one of the best moves you'll make during these hot summer months. Most summer maternity dresses have a free-flowing style making your outfit cool and comfy. Give yourself a variety of styles to choose from so you can wear them often yet have a new look everyday. Be sure to avoid full fitted maternity dresses or you'll find yourself doing the opposite of keeping cool!
Believe it or not.. LAYER! Summer days often give us cool mornings, so walking out with a maternity cami and shorts may be too chilly for you. However, you know it will be scorching hot later! This is a perfect scenario of when to layer. Try wearing a maternity cami under a loose fitted maternity tunic. Then when the hot weather steps in remove the tunic and just sport your maternity cami. Have fun with it by mixing & matching different colors.
Light as a Feather! Lightweight fabrics are important whether you're wearing a summer maternity dress, maternity skirt, maternity top or accessories. Yes, accessories can turn up the heat when too heavy or bulky.
Deflect the Heat! Wear lighter colors to avoid absorbing so much of that heat. This doesn't mean you need to wear all white, but by all means, avoid wearing black when you know you'll be outside for the majority of the day. Go with neutrals and add a splash of color!
Loosen it up a bit! Tighter clothes tend to make you sweat more, especially tops. Let the breeze flow through those loose maternity tops and bottoms. But don't wear a loose fitting top with a loose fitting bottom. Be sure to always do the opposite. Switch things up a bit with a nice flowing maternity skirt and a fitted maternity tank for a nice summer pregnancy outfit.
Au-Natural! Go for natural fibers instead of synthetic ones. Clothing made out of fabrics like cotton and linen "breathe," which can help you to stay cool in hot weather. There's nothing worse than stepping out of the house on a hot day with a maternity top that makes you sweat more!
Love your leggings! Although maternity leggings are obviously on the tighter side, they can be much more comfortable than maternity jeans in the summer. Pair your favorite maternity leggings with a maternity tunic or short dress instead of going straight for those reliable maternity jeans that we're always so stuck to.
